Leslie Griesdorf is a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and attended Grace Street Public school before transferring to McMurrich Junior Public School. Leslie Griesdorf worked hard to earn the best grades while attending the Oakwood Collegiate Institute in Toronto from 1959 until 1964, and his hard work paid off when he was accepted to the University of Toronto in 1964 as a student of General Science even though he had not yet earned a degree in science (which was normally required for admission). To keep up with his classmates, he took extra classes on the weekend and graduated in 1969.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf: Why Semi-Retirement?

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf is a respected Toronto dentist who maintained excellent standing with the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association until he retired in 2004. Today, he lives in semi-retirement as an investment professional, and he loves making his money work for him.

If you’re considering retirement, but aren’t sure if you want to join semi-retired professionals like Dr. Leslie Griesdorf, the points below might help you make your decision:

  • Financial Security

Semi-retirement allows you to continue pulling in money after you’ve left your primary career. This lessens the demand for tight budgeting so you can enjoy your retired life and not worry about spending your retirement funds too quickly. This increased financial security is particularly nice if you didn’t start saving for retirement as early as you should have.

  • Mental Stimulation

Retirement can lead to boredom, especially when you don’t have the financial security to really enjoy your new life. Semi-retirement provides mental stimulation to keep you engaged and active despite having left your career.

As a semi-retired professional, Leslie Griesdorf dentist enjoys a relaxed life but still has financial security. If possible, speak with someone in a similar position for a deeper look into semi-retired life.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf: Preparing to Invest

He’s passionate about finances and, since leaving a decades-long career as a dentist, he has become the go-to source of advice for those close to him on matters of wealth management.

If you’re interested in investing, you know that professionals like Dr. Leslie Griesdorf often spend years preparing to invest, and you’d be wise to do the same. Tips like these will help you ready your financial situation for a successful investing career:

  • Build an Emergency Savings Account

Before you save up money to invest, build an emergency savings account to protect your financial situation from life’s inevitable issues. From getting laid off to getting in a car wreck, plenty can happen that puts you in financial strain, and a financial cushion will keep you from dipping into your investments and wrecking your portfolio.

  • Follow a Budget

To open up as much of your finances to investing as possible, follow a budget and cut costs where you can. This will keep you from overspending on little things like designer coffees or clothes, and help you place your wealth where it can do the most good.

Before you invest your hard-earned money, seek advice from a skilled financial professional. Either a specialist like Dr. Leslie Griesdorf or a local advisor can offer an outside look at your upcoming wealth-management decisions.

Leslie Griesdorf: Commonly Held JFK Conspiracy Theories

Now retired, Leslie Griesdorf commits a good deal of his time to the in-depth study of history, particularly those moments and events that were such turning points of the 20th Century U.S history. Among his favorite subjects to explore and breach in conversation is the JFK assassination saga, an obsession of Griesdorf’s since the event first shook the world in November of 1963.

Having studied and attended numerous university-sponsored lectures on the subject over the past few decades, Leslie Griesdorf has come to appreciate not only the events and personalities surrounding the pivotal event, but also the many well-documented conspiracy theories that have originated and thrived over the past 50 years. Some of the more popular of these theories, those with the most staying power, include:

The Second Shooter

The Grassy Knoll theory, which is centered on the idea of a second assassin, lives on, and was perhaps given considerable ammunition by the 1976 Select Committee on Assassinations.

Mob Involvement

Many continue to believe in the mafia to be a primary culprit in the assassination, an idea that sprouted from Robert Kennedy’s own fear that his previous actions against mafioso figures had prompted a sort of revenge motive on the Kennedys.

Leslie Griesdorf: Getting the Most from Your Retirement

Leslie Griesdorf spent his career in service to his community, providing quality oral surgery and dental treatment to patients throughout the Toronto area for more than 35 years. Now retired, Leslie Griesdorf is doing his best to take full advantage of his time, and to invest himself fully in the activities, interests and adventures he’s always had a passion for.

A music collector, fine dining enthusiast, history buff and amateur stock market investor, Leslie Griesdorf is pursuing those things he had only limited time for throughout his career. Griesdorf is enjoying the experience of retirement, and promises to make the most of it for as long as possible.

For those nearing or beginning the often scary prospect of retirement, it often helps to abide by a few simple rules; those which are instrumental to bringing out the best of the golden era so many have worked so hard to achieve.

Do What You Know

Easing into retirement, particularly after a long, 40-hour-plus career, isn’t, well, easy. The transition into retirement often becomes a little easier by picking up a part-time job, or by committing yourself to a productive activity that keeps your hands and mind active.

Select and Narrow Down Your Hobbies

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of hobbies available to the retiree. Do your best to narrow down 3-4 interests. This allows you to make more of a mental and emotional investment in activities you really enjoy.

Leslie Griesdorf: Improving Your Patient Referral Rate

Leslie Griesdorf enjoyed his time as a leading Toronto dentist, spending more than 35 years delivering skilled dental surgery and treatment to the people of his local community. Now retired, Griesdorf looks back fondly on his career, one that included the opportunity to meet and develop lasting relationships with people of all backgrounds and walks of life.

A reputable and compassionate professional, Leslie Griesdorf committed himself to providing great care and a memorable experience to every patient; one reason he was able to cultivate so much patient loyalty, and, by turn, numerous patient referrals, throughout his career.

Patient referrals, particularly in the dental profession, aren’t always easy to come by, though garnering word-of-mouth business is essential to the sustained success of any practice. To improve your practice’s referral rate, it may be time to consider:

Special Promotions

One way to encourage patient referrals is by offering your patients discounted or free services for every friend they refer, or even to send a thank you note to the patient once the referral proves successful.

Mentioning Special Services New Patients May Be Interested In

If your practice offers the latest in whitening technology, provides free oral cancer screenings or is proud to offer children’s dental treatment, be sure to mention such services with current patients.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf: How to Make a Budget

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf is an investment professional who’s enjoying semi-retired life and trading in the stock market to fill his time. He’s learned much about finances, wealth management, investing and trading since entering semi-retirement in 2004, and he’s become the go-to source of financial information among friends and family.

Both retirement and investing require a strict budget, especially if you still need to get to a place where you can join professionals like Dr. Leslie Griesdorf in these pursuits. Tips like these will help you make a budget and take your wealth management to the next level:

  • Outline What You’re Working With

Create an outline that details your mandatory bills (no, Netflix doesn’t count) and your monthly income to get an idea of what you’re working with. The sum leftover, after groceries, car payments, mortgage payments and other bills, can be divided among saving, investing, debt repayment and modest just-for-fun expenses.

  • Outline Your Goals

Long-term goals like buying a house, investing in the stock market, saving for retirement or traveling the world must be in your budget. Set dates for your goals, calculate the expenses (taking account for inflation), and determine how much you need to save every month to reach them. If the leftover sum from your outline doesn’t cover what you need, consider adjusting dates for finding additional streams of income.

If possible, speak with someone like Dr. Leslie Griesdorf who has years of experience in budgeting, investing and financial management. A local financial advisor, for example, is an excellent place to go when you need more insight on creating the perfect budget for your goals.

LESLIE GRIESDORF: PREPARING FOR KARATE

Longtime dentist Leslie Griesdorf, who retired from the profession in 2004, was once devoted to the discipline of karate; an experience that helped to instill and sharpen Leslie Griesdorf's focus, self-discipline and balance over the course of his instruction.

A former student of the coveted Northern Karate School, Griesdorf enjoyed the opportunity to train and compete amongst his peers, though he also gained a deep appreciation for the importance of karate preparation.

Adequate preparation of the mind and body is crucial in karate. Basic steps in karate preparation include:

Achieving Clarity
Clearing one’s mind of distraction is essential. Through deep, focused breathing, the individual can better prepare for the challenge ahead.

Exercising
Waking up one’s muscles through a brief five-to-ten-minute running and exercise session can help to wake up those muscles needed throughout the match/lesson.

Stretching
An essential component of karate preparation, thorough stretching helps to limber up those joints and muscles you’ll be using throughout each session. Stretching is also key to avoiding injury.

As a student at the Northern Karate School, Leslie Griesdorf achieved the level of Brown Belt. He is proud both of this achievement, and of the training he received throughout his student tenure.

LESLIE GRIESDORF RESEARCHES CANADIAN FORCES IN WORLD WAR II

Originally named York, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the birthplace of Dr. Leslie Griesdorf has a rich and diverse history, with both recent and prehistorical origins. Griesdorf’s love of history is afforded a wide study in his native city, while his interest also extends to all things related to World War II. Canada’s history with that worldwide conflict began in 1939, when Germany invaded Poland. In the ensuing years The Canadian Armed Forces were active in combat in Italy, Northwestern Europe and the North Atlantic. 1.1 million Canadians served in the Canadian Army, the Royal Canadian Navy, the Royal Canadian Air Force and units across the Canadian Commonwealth. Canada’s participation in the War cost 44,000 lives and placed Canada in economic debt, costing 21.8 billion by 1950. At the War’s conclusion, Canada had the world’s fourth largest air force and the fifth largest navy.

LESLIE GRIESDORF: 5 POPULAR JFK ASSASSINATION THEORIES

Leslie Griesdorf is a student of history. He particularly enjoys reading and learning about the people, places and events that shaped American history during the 20th Century.

One of Leslie Griesdorf’s favorite subjects, something he would even consider on the level of “obsession,” is the John F. Kennedy Assassination of November 22, 1963. Having lived through that event, Leslie Griesdorf made it a point to save newspapers that marked the time both before, during and after the assassination.
And as Griesdorf knows, theories continue to abound as to who was really behind that tragic November day.

Popular JFK assassination theories include:

1) The Mafia
One running theory continues to be mafia involvement in the assassination, often times as hired hitmen of the CIA.

2) THE CIA
The clandestine “spooky” nature of the CIA, particularly during the 1960s, makes the organization an easy mark for JFK conspiracy theorists everywhere.

3) LBJ
Lyndon Johnson, next-in-line to be president at the time, is often thrown in as someone with much to gain from an assassination plot.

4) The Cuban Government
Given the Bay of Pigs failure and numerous US attempts on Castro’s life, the Cubans become an easy pill for many theorists to swallow.

5) The Soviets
The Cuban Missile Crisis and extraordinarily high tensions between the US and USSR at the time make the Soviet Government a suspect.

Leslie Griesdorf dentist is fascinated by the intrigue and speculation that continues to surround the JFK Assassination.

DR. LESLIE GRIESDORF - THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AND WORKING HARD

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf is a retired dental professional who spent a great deal of time in the field before retiring in 2004. He owned and operated his own private practice in Toronto, Canada where he helped numerous patients with their dental needs. Although he has retired from his successful career, he has still managed to keep himself busy through regular exercise and through smart investing decisions within the stock market. He has become somewhat of an amateur expert when it comes to investing in the stock market, and is always willing to offer his friends advice in the field. Leslie believes that his success in and out of the dental professional is due to his commitment to hard work and his education.

An undergraduate and graduate education is becoming more and more popular amongst younger professionals as they enter the work force. In this day and age, it is difficult to pursue a worthwhile career with out at least an undergraduate degree in a specific field. Only a few short years ago, students who graduated from a university with just an undergraduate degree could easily find a job almost immediately after school. However, now it is becoming more common to get a graduate level education before enter the work force. As more people attend college after high school, undergraduate level degrees aren’t the cherished commodity that they once were. Dr. Leslie Griesdorf believes that he achieved the level of success he did due to his hard work, and his dedication to his education.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf believes that a solid education is the key to professional success in the future. If recent high school graduates have the means, they should at least obtain an undergraduate degree in order to maximize their chances for a brighter future.

DR. LESLIE GRIESDORF - THE IMPORTANCE OF REGULAR DENTAL CHECK-UPS

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf is a retired dental professional who had proudly served the Toronto, Canada area for several years. In 2003, only a year before he fully retired from the field, he sold his private practice to a former dental school classmate in order to spend more time with his family, and devote more time to his investments in the stock market. He was a member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Ontario Dental Association before his retirement in 2004, and he was widely respected in the field. Although he has retired from the field, he is always willing to help his family and his friends through dental advice and oral hygiene tips to last a lifetime.

Proper dental care is important for the present and the future. Simply doing the little things in terms of overall oral hygiene can make a major impact on your health overall. For instance, flossing regularly will help keep plaque from forming in hard to reach places, and decrease your chances for various gum diseases, including gingivitis. Brushing your teeth twice a day will also greatly decrease your chances for cavities and other dental afflictions that can cause intense pain. However, the most important piece of advice that Dr. Leslie Griesdorf gives his friends is to get a dental check-up every six months. Even if you take great care of your teeth, dental professionals will be able to get the spots you missed in a thorough cleaning, and are trained to spot the early signs of diseases that you could easily overlook.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf understands the importance of proper dental care, and has always advised his patients and friends to get regular check-ups in order to ensure their overall health. He continues to make a difference in the lives of others.'

DR. LESLIE GRIESDORF - THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER ORAL HYGIENE AND DENTAL CARE

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf is a retired dental professional who had been serving in the field for many years. He graduated from dental school in 1969 before beginning his work with a local in hospital in Ottawa, Canada. He was able to start his own practice in Toronto, before he sold it to a former classmate in 2003. Although he is retired, he still has a strong reputation amongst the professional dental community for his outstanding work. He worked hard to obtain the level of success he enjoyed at the height of his career, and he still offers oral hygiene tips to his family and friends in order to help people stay healthy for the future.

Proper oral hygiene and care is extremely important. In order to ensure strong, white, healthy teeth for the entirety of your life, there are certain things that must be done on a regular basis. Brushing your teeth twice a day is an extremely important part of your everyday oral care routine, and it can help protect your teeth from erosion through out the day. Ideally, you want to brush your teeth after every meal, but twice a day at both morning and night is sufficient. Using mouthwash is another great way to take care of your mouth because it can kill germs that cause plaque and various gum diseases. There are even effective mouthwashes that don’t have the uncomfortable burn of alcohol.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf understands that oral hygiene is an important part of every persons’ day. Many of the issues he was called upon to fix by his patients were simply a result of improper oral hygiene. Simply brushing your teeth on a regular basis can keep a person’s teeth strong and healthy for the foreseeable future.

DR. LESLIE GRIESDORF - HOW TO DEAL WITH DIFFICULT PATIENTS

As a doctor, you get to meet all manner of patients during consultations and treatment appointments. In order to ensure you deliver the best service, you have to be accommodating to every type of individual that walks into your office. Some will be nice and warm to deal with, while other patients will be difficult to reason with. According to retired dentist Dr. Leslie Griesdorf, you require more than just a friendly smile to survive.

Communication skills
A large aspect of the job requires communicating with patients, which means your communication skills have to be on point. Listening and knowing when to respond are key skills to have. Recognize that you will require more patience with some patients than with others, and you may have to give more time to certain personalities than others.

Emotional control
Doctors are human beings, and it’s natural to get frustrated or get into an argument to prove your point. As a doctor, you don’t argue with patients but rather show that you are there to help. Patients want to feel understood as it helps them keep their emotions in check.

Boundaries
Make it clear to patients at the beginning what is acceptable behavior/talk and what isn’t. This helps create boundaries and establish consistency in the way you handle patients. Boundaries help aid reasoning processes and diffuse difficult situations before they blow out of proportion.

Last chance
When patients prove too difficult to handle, it might be best to have a third party act as the go-between. Other than cutting ties with the patient, this is the only way to salvage the doctor-patient relationship.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf was a caring dentist who always worked at creating good rapport with his clients and dental practice staff.

DR. LESLIE GRIESDORF - GREAT FITNESS TIPS TO BOOST YOUR HEALTH

A great tip is a remarkable thing. Whether it’s a secret ingredient to a recipe, a stock you should invest in, or a sleeper team to root for in the playoffs, good inside information increases a man’s confidence and strength. Indeed, knowledge is power.
When it comes to maintaining great health, you need all the secrets you can get your hands on. In Dr. Leslie Griesdorf’s mission to maintain a powerful body, he’s come across great gems that will make a difference in your life.

Save time
To ensure your muscles are engaged fully and produce the best results, keep your weight training to under an hour. After that, the body produces the stress hormone cortisol, which means anything after 60 minutes isn’t as effective.

6-pack abs
To build the abdominal muscles you’ve always wanted, don’t stress them with everyday work. Your ab muscle is just like any other in the body; overwork it and you risk slowing down its recovery and growth. Train your abs twice or three times a week for maximum effect.

Flexible muscles
As you grow older, your muscles become less flexible. To ensure the best results, hold your stretches for at least 60 seconds if you are older than 40, and no more than 30 seconds if you’re under 40.

No more excuses
For a single day, schedule a workout and make sure you do it, even if it’s just 10 minutes of exercise. Afterwards, consider if you were any less productive because of the workout. The answer is probably no, which means there are no excuses for you not to exercise.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf is a retired dentist who has a very keen interest in exercise. He’s been training four times a week since high school.

DR. LESLIE GRIESDORF - THE BENEFITS OF ENDURANCE TRAINING

Because your muscles are constantly active during the day, they need to be strong enough to provide the resistance needed to get through every activity. Throughout the day, your body weight provides much of the resistance. By working on your endurance, you not only increase the muscles’ ability to keep you energized during the day, but you get better at your exercise routines. The benefits of endurance training are numerous, as Dr. Leslie Griesdorf shares.

The need for endurance training exceeds helping you compete in a marathon or sign up for Cross Fit training. Endurance helps you get more out of your muscles in the gym, improves your health, your cardiovascular and heart function, and increases the body’s metabolism.

In life, having better muscular endurance helps you get through everyday tasks faster and easier. You also get better stamina, so you’re exerting less energy to do more work. Tasks like cleaning the car or raking leaves in the garden become much easier, and you avoid any possible injuries from overusing the muscles.

Muscular endurance also goes beyond improving your stamina. Endurance training reduces the risk of bone breakage and fast wear to the bones. This is because bone density increases as you exercise more, so that your bones are also prepared for continuous use.
In sports, endurance helps athletes perform better for longer. If you’ve ever wanted to run an extra mile or play an extra quarter of basketball or football, engaging in muscular endurance training will enable your muscles sustain the exercise for longer.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf retired from the dentistry profession in 2004. Since then, he keeps busy through exercise, spending time with family, and trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

DR. LESLIE GRIESDORF - SIMPLE WAYS TO LEARN STOCK MARKET TRADING YOU SHOULD TRY

New investors taking the leap into stock market trading should get as much information from many sources as possible. Trial and error combined with the ability to be persistent eventually enables one to find success.
One advantage of investing in stocks is the fact that you can do it for a lifetime. Stock investors trade for years as they improve their skills, and just like wine, get better with time.

Dr. Leslie Griesdorf, a retired dentist who trades in stocks, shares tips that can help you get started.

Open a trading account
There are plenty of online stockbroker websites that you can look through and sign up for an account. Get familiar with the layout and the free trading tools that are offered. Some websites even facilitate virtual trading to help you learn the trends.

Read, a lot!
Books are an inexpensive source of information compared to signing up for classes and seminars. Again, the Internet is a great source of informational material that will help you get started in stocks trading.

Seek guidance
Seek advice from a family member, co-worker or friend who has an understanding on how stock markets work. They can serve as your mentors and can provide answers and recommend resources to help you during this time. Many successful investors have relied on mentors to understand how to invest wisely.

Keep up with latest news
Make the financial section of major news sites your friend as you strive to learn about markets and understand economic concepts.

KARATE - HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

Karate is a martial art and discipline that owes much of its cultivation to the conditions of the time in which it originated. There have been many big names throughout the history of karate that have added to the popularity of the art. Sakukawa Kanga is one of those names. He was a man who studied pugilism and bo fighting. It would not be long until he began teaching his own fighting style and art in a city called Shuri. He would dub the fighting style the “Tudi Sakukawa.” This was the first documented reference to the martial discipline of Tudi. This would evolve into another version of martial arts that combined Tudi with Shuri, and later become the Shorin-ryu, which would profoundly influence the way that karate was learned and taught.

Sakukawa’s most renowned student, Matsumura, taught his art of Shorin-ryu to Itosu Anko. Anko would then develop and merge the different arts that Matsumara taught him. He also began to simplify some of the fighting styles to make it easier for new students to catch on. It was Anko who would help to have karate introduced at Okinawa public schools, making it more accessible to the general public. This early teaching method would prove to be very effective. Anko’s forms would be established and recognized in almost every variation of karate that we know today. It is for that reason that Anko is often referred to as the “grandfather of modern karate”.

Dr Leslie Griesdorf is a retired dentist who spends his free-time practicing the discipline of karate.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MODERN DENTISTRY

The road to modern dentistry that we know today was a long process that required lots of trial and error in order to come about. Though there is evidence of dental work being done as early as 7000 BC, many of the processes were crude and ineffective.

Modern dentistry was not born until around the 1600s, where it would continue to grow and change into the well-established field that it is today. One of the first major strides towards modern-day dentistry came from the surgeon Pierre Fauchard, who is known as the “father of modern dentistry”.

He published a book with extensive information on dentistry, including causes of tooth decay like sugar, the use of braces, the anatomy of the oral cavity, and many corrective dental procedures.Fauchard was important because he set the tempo for the many improvements in dental work to come.

After Fauchard, a British surgeon by the name of John Hunter published two very important books that would forever change the discipline of dentistry. These two books were “Natural History of Human Teeth,” and the “Practical Treatise on the Diseases of the Teeth.”

It was the collaboration between Hunter and a dentist named James Spence that improved the field of dentistry by a large margin. These two even proposed a way to transplant a tooth from one person to another.Though this practice was not used often, it did pave the way for the transplant procedures of internal organs.

Dr Leslie Griesdorf is a retired dentist who also enjoys examining the rich history of the discipline.

DENTISTRY - DENTISTS AROUND THE WORLD

Many people are not aware that a dentist has to go through very thorough schooling in order to be allowed to practice. While some joke that calling a dentist a doctor is like calling a National Guard a Marine, often dentists must go through just as extensive of an education in order to become licensed and open up a practice.

The first dental school ever started was done so by a Dr. John M. Harris, who opened it in Bainbridge, Ohio. There he helped to cultivate dentistry into a respected scientific practice and health profession.

Today this dental school is a museum devoted to the discipline, where you can plainly see all of the progressions made in the industry. While requirements for dentists vary from country to country, nearly all of them require a substantial amount of schooling before they are allowed to practice in the field.

More commonly, the difference between dentists from other countries is often the opinion they have on certain procedures. For example, a dental school in Israel may more likely suggest removing your wisdom teeth than one from Eastern Europe or Latin America.

In the United Kingdom, a British Dentist Act required the registration of dentists, as well as limited the title of dentist and dental surgeon only to those who could show documentation of registration and qualification. While this was the case, it is important to note that you could still be considered a dental expert or consultant legally without the certifications.

Dr Leslie Griesdorf is a retired dentist who has worked with doctors educated from all parts of the world.
